Well, the girls never cease to amaze me... they have learned to hoist themselves up on the couch. It was inevitable, I guess. It is scary, of course, to think of them tumbling off, but what am I supposed to do? Embrace it, I guess, and teach them how to dismount.
Sooo... with that, I decided to embrace it. The girls NEVER watch TV, something I just think is unnecessary at this point with so much to learn from books, seeing and doing. I DVR Sesame Street everyday, but they have showed little to no interest thus far. We watch it maybe once or twice a week and skip straight to Elmo, which they lovingly call "melmo" -- emphasis on the "oh."
I thought I'd give it a try again today ... perhaps I'd get a free moment to cook dinner (sundried tomato chicken, yum!) without little kids running at my feet and opening the tupperware cabinet (which I reorganize at least a dozen times a day).
I flipped on the TV, walked into the kitchen and heard SILENCE from the kids...this usually means one of two things: 1) they are up to something or 2) they are sleeping.
Here is what I found:
The girls were in their comfy clothes ... I'm a little embarrassed to post this because they don't have pants on. Oh well, I guess do it while they can get away with it, right? They have also taken a liking to the Halloween teddy bears that Grandma sent them.
Olivia loves to dance these days, which usually consists of swaying and hand clapping. But, she is workin'on stompin' and squatting as well. Emma is starting to dance as well! Notice toward the end of the video how she body slams her legs, this is something we are working on. She does this during diaper changes and sometimes hits my belly. Again, working on her "aggression." Emma was clearly enthralled. Aren't they adorable?
I always tease Edgar because he watches TV standing up ... looks like Emma takes after her daddy.
Enjoy the videos!
