Doctor's Appointment Today

First -- if my professor is reading this ... I'll get to my assignment. I promise. It has been one heckuva week complete with two doctor's trips, hospital trip (previously blogged), dentist appointment, playgroup, kindermusik, two teething toddlers, horrible nasty bug bites on the girls and much, much more. School seems to be the bane of my existence these days. Very hard for me to keep it all balanced. I'm struggling with these headaches and the girls' nap time. I am to the point now where I need to nap when the girls nap -- but when do I get all of my work done? I'm struggling.

Okay, back to the appointment.

I dropped the girls off at Greenkids... this is a childcare center (refuse to use the word Day Care) for moms (and dads!) who need sporadic childcare. It is basically a babysitting service in an awesome venue. I was really hesitant to drop the kids off... I felt like I failed them or something, like I couldn't take care of them. But, I had this doctor's appointment and they couldn't go. So I was left with no other choice. In a way, I think this is better than a babysitter actually coming to the house. They get new toys and get to interact (without mom!) with other kids. The girls loved, loved, loved it and I think they had a really good time. They didn't even flinch when I left the building. Sigh.

Okay, the appointment. Dr. Grotegut is amazing. And if you're actually reading this, (we're friends on facebook) thanks for being so good to us.

So, he is concerned about my headaches. Said I need to drink more caffeine. WTF?! Doesn't that go against everything we are taught about pregnancy?? But, I will happily oblige. I love me some pumpkin spice latte. He said I actually need to take the imitrex ... yikes. He assured me that it is fine. So I think I'll try it next time.

I got to peek at baby -- definitely still a girl. A cutie! I can tell that she is getting bigger. I can definitely feel her kick a lot these days. I've been feeling flutters since 14w,but they are getting stronger and stronger. I expect that Allen should be able to feel her any day now. I could feel her from the outside last night. He felt the girls around 21 weeks, so I expect it to be about the same. I have been getting some heartburn, oh joy. Following the old wives tale, perhaps this will mean that I'll have a baby with hair!

My fundal height is 20 inches which he said is "perfect."

Here is my updated weight gain (disregard the previous post, this is the correct one via the doctor's office):

Pre-pregnancy weight: 119

According to "your pregnancy week by week," I should have gained between 8 and 14 pounds by 19 weeks. Shoot me.
