Oh, these girls. They learn something new every day! So, apparently, I need to redefine my version of what constitues sitting ... these girls are pros now! I don't know why I expected them to just all of a sudden go from on their tummies to the sitting position. Silly me didn't realize that independent sitting is considered sitting unassisted for a certain period of time... and lookie what these girls can do!!!! They sat like this for a good 5+ minutes for several times today. All I have to do is plop them down and there they sit. I'm so proud of them! (For Allen -- "that's a milestone!")

In other news, the girls have been doing some really cute things lately:
- Olivia prefers her left hand, Emma her right. I know this will probably change, but it is neat nevertheless to see their preferences.
- Speaking of preferences, Olivia continues to have very strong ones in regards to EVERYTHING. Where in the world she got so opinionated (I don't know anyone who is opinionated...) I have no idea, but she certainly has her preferences.
- Emma is now saying "mama" and "dada" ... melts our hearts. She started out like Livi did with the "th" sound and then practiced mouthing the sounds without acutally saying them. Now she is just babbling away, as is Livi.
They are so much fun to watch. I bet they start rocking back and forth on their hands and knees before they actually start to crawl.
