Things I Love About Today

Borrowing this concept from an old friend, I am starting a new blog segment called "Things I Love About Today" ... here goes!

1. OshKosh B'Gosh overalls -- There is something so endearing about them. I love the way the girls look in them and I love that they are the real deal play clothes... my girls own so many dresses and prissy stuff. I shopped for the first time at Kohls and scored 4 pairs of OshKosh overalls! Illegal spending, don't tell Edgar!

2. Nap time -- as the girls are sleeping, I have successfully paid two bills (something I haven't done since I was pregnant with the twins.) - and one of which bills required a 15 minute phone call. I have blogged a little. Switched out all of the girls 12 month clothes for 18 month clothes (they are getting so big!) and now I'm sitting on the couch (blogging) and folding laundry while watching a DVR'd episode of Sex and The City. Ah, bliss. Meanwhile, I'm ignoring the homework I should be doing. I have senioritus. SO ready to be done with school!

3. Lists -- I am currently mentally organizing a shopping list... then I'll update my electronic one so we can do our big trip tomorrow. Have I mentioned that I love lists?

4. Maclaren Twin Techno stroller -- since BOB is getting too hefty for me to get in and out of the SUV 5 times a day, I've been drooling over the Maclaren Twin Techno (as opposed to the Triumph). It comes with a price tag, though. Normally I wouldn't sneeze at the price, but who knows how long the twins are going to use it, ya know? Apparently everyone else loves theirs too, because I can't find a good used one to save my life--- not on eBay, Craigslist or my mommies group. Humph.

5. My kids -- (and every day, of course) But, today Olivia did not want her daddy to put her down. Something about watching Allen with his daughters made my heart go to mush. He just held her and held her while she laid her head upon his shoulder. It was such a sweet moment.

6. Sirius/XM radio -- I'm obsessed with every single song on Alt Nation. Today we got to hear 1901 followed by Oscar Wilde and then Use Somebody. Perfect playlist.

7. McDonald's Fountain Diet Coke -- following doctor's caffeine orders, I had a fountain diet coke today and it was fizzy heaven in a cup.

8. Housekeepers -- My dirty little secret. I love coming home to a clean house. Like little fairies have visited. It was especially nice today -- they "fanned" my kleenex and made a triangle out of my toilet paper (like they do in hotels) ... and they change my sheets. Awesome.

9. Dinner plans -- I'm going to make a chicken pot pie and apple crisp. YUM.

10. The sound of my sweet babies upstairs as they are awakening from a much needed long nap.

Gotta run!

  1. I love McD's fountain diet coke too.
A good alternative to the Maclaren Twin stroller is the Jeep twin. the best thing about it is it folds up small like two umbrella strollers, I have one, I really wanted the Maclaren but the price was to high. I got the jeep stroller at Toys R Us for around $100, it not as fancy but it works well and was great to take to the airport.

I am a bit jealous about the housekeeper, maybe after John is done with fellowship.

  2. One of the first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant was OshKosh Overalls...seriously! I liked the idea of being able to pick up the little one from behind, like a mommy dog or cat ; ) Little did I know how practical they are! I can also hold her up or prevent her from falling forward. Yeah OshKoch B'Gosh!

  3. Thanks, Jasmine! I'll have to look into the Jeep stroller. I did have a Chicco umbrella, but only used it to travel and recently sold it on Durham Mother's Club. Now I'm having seller's remorse! A housekeeper is a must!!!! We make room in our fellow's budget... after grad school, twins and pregnancy... it is a necessity in my book.

Dre -- LOVE OshKosh. Why am I just now discovering their cuteness? Any other brands you love?
