Livi's Tight Hamstrings

Okay, so I mentioned in a previous post how I was convinced that Livi had (what I called for lack of a better term) a curved stature. Everyone else thought I was crazy -- she is perfectly fine.

Luckily, I had a pediatrician listen to me and referred us to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Sounds scary, right?

Well, Liv had her evaluation yesterday and, as it turns out, she has tight hamstrings. This is what caused her "curved stature" ... in other words, she looks like she is slightly crouching. She has a hard time straightening her legs past 150 degrees.

Soooo... we are going to physical therapy twice a week for three months so we can learn some stretches and do some gate training (so she can learn to walk without crouching).

I'm so thankful that it does not appear to be anything structural or major. In fact, the surgeon said this is very minor. However, I still can't hide my disappointment that Livi has to deal with this, minor as it may be.

Am I being silly for worrying so much about her posture? Or am I right? Ahhh... parenting is SO hard! I'm just doing what I think is best, I guess. She's such an angel. The cutest, brightest angel.

Love my kids!
